Currently looking for an electrical project manager to work on a data centre over in West London.
My client is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the construction and management of state-of-the-art data centres. We specialize in delivering cutting-edge, high-performance data infrastructure to our clients, ensuring reliable and scalable operations. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team and lead the electrical installation and commissioning for our upcoming data centre projects.
Job Summary:
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will oversee the electrical aspects of our data centre construction projects from start to finish. You will manage electrical design, installation, and commissioning while ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead electrical aspects of data centre projects, including design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
2. Supervise and coordinate a team of electrical engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of electrical systems.
3. Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure the project stays on track, including cost control and reporting.
4. Ensure that electrical systems are designed, installed, and tested in compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
5. Proactively identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate delays or issues.
6. Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations.
7. Oversee adherence to safety protocols on-site and ensure a culture of safety and compliance.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. Relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Engineer) is a plus.
Experience:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management, preferably within data centre, construction, or critical infrastructure projects.
2. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS systems, generator systems, and low-voltage electrical systems.
Skills:
1. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
2. Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
3. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
4. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project requirements.
Preferable to have managed a full data centre project.
