We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our healthcare teams at HMP Warren Hill, a category C Prison, and HMP Hollesley Bay, a category D prison, both located near Woodbridge in Suffolk. In total, the site caters to around 650 patients, many of whom have long-term conditions and polypharmacy needs. Because of this, the role would suit a GP who enjoys supporting with end-to-end care. Within this role, you will be working closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team, which includes 2 other GPs. The role is split into morning and afternoon sessions across the 2 sites, which sit around half a mile from each other.
Hours
2 days per week/4 sessions 9am-5pm. Sessions will be on either Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.
Salary
This position is part-time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £126,600 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well-respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, providing opportunities to develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice or even A&E environment.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients' requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at the site, as well as the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required:
* MBChB or MBBS; inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
