MLL Telecom requires a highly motivated RAN Rigging Engineer. We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled RAN Rigging Engineer to join our team in the UK. The successful candidate will work alongside the Lead RAN Installation and Commissioning Engineer to support the rigging and installation of Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment.
This role involves physical installation tasks, including mounting antennas and related hardware, as well as ensuring that all rigging meets safety and technical standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in rigging within the telecommunications sector and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Rigging & Installation:
* Perform rigging tasks for the installation of RAN equipment, including antennas, towers, and support structures.
* Ensure precise alignment and secure mounting of equipment to meet technical specifications and safety standards.
* Assist with the installation of cabling and other associated hardware as needed.
Safety & Compliance:
* Adhere to all safety regulations and industry standards during rigging and installation activities.
* Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
* Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow best practices to mitigate risks.
Collaboration & Support:
* Work closely with the Lead RAN Installation and Commissioning Engineer to coordinate rigging activities and address any technical issues.
* Support the commissioning process by ensuring that all rigging and installation tasks are completed to specification.
* Communicate effectively with team members and provide feedback on project progress.
Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, including equipment installation and configuration details.
* Report any issues or deviations from project plans to the Lead Engineer and assist in resolving them.
Maintenance & Upgrades:
* Assist with the maintenance and repair of existing RAN equipment and structures as needed.
* Support upgrade projects by reconfiguring or replacing rigging components as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in rigging, telecommunications, or a related field. Practical experience can substitute for formal education.
Experience:
* Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in rigging within the telecommunications sector.
* Hands-on experience with the installation and rigging of RAN equipment, including antennas and towers.
Skills:
* Strong understanding of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
* Ability to work at height and in various weather conditions.
* Proficient in using rigging tools and equipment.
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Certifications:
* Relevant industry certifications, such as tower climbing and rigging certifications, are highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:
* Willingness to travel within the UK as required by project needs.
* Ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call support if needed.
