A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Critical Care Outreach Team at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust. The available post is predominately based at Colchester Hospital site.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work as a band 6 CCOT practitioner and join our well established Critical Care Outreach Team for 23 hours per week.
Our Critical Care Outreach Service comprises a team of Band 7 and Band 6 nurses delivering a 24/7 service with the focus on supporting the recognition and management of acutely unwell and deteriorating patients. You must be able to seek out and identify patients who are or have the potential to clinically deteriorate and support staff to implement appropriate management plans.
The team is also responsible for improving practice through audit and delivering TRUST wide education events and the post-holder will be expected to support these aspects of the role.
You must also have an appreciation of current acute and critical care issues as well as a working knowledge of the current health agenda.
You will exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy in the deployment of emergency and critical care skills within all clinical settings as required. The CCOT possess decision-making skills that satisfy the demands and expectations of the role whilst augmenting and strengthening the nursing contribution to compassionate patient care.
You will provide consultation and assessment for the deteriorating patient outside of the Critical Care environment, to include support and advice for the Multi-Disciplinary Team. The post-holder will work collaboratively with the critical care team to support admission, safe transfers, rehabilitation, and follow-up.
