Outpatient clinics, both Elective and Trauma seeing a mixture of new and follow up patients under supervision of the consultant and independently. A responsibility for coordination of the upper limb trauma service, liaising with the consultants and trauma coordinators ensuring patients are appropriately prioritised and prepared for surgery Assisting in operating theatres and conducting parallel operating lists when appropriate/commensurate with operating ability. The time table will include 2-3 Operating lists and 2-3 clinics per week. Supervision and training of foundation doctors, core trainees and middle grades in the day to day management of upper limb elective and emergent conditions. Daily review of upper limb inpatients Presenting monthly mortality & morbidity statistics and participating in departmental teaching meetings Teaching and training staff in other medical disciplines, nursing and support staff as appropriate. Be prepared to participate in management duties within the department and the Trust The fellow is not expected to be part of the middle grade on call rota.
