An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Machinist to join us at the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility in Derby. The EOS facility is 27,000m2, with 550 employees, and operational for 20 hours a day, 365 days a year. As the only wholly owned Large Engine MRO facility, with capability to maintain all modern Trent engines, EOS is fundamental to the future success of Civil Aerospace. In this role, you’ll work on the latest machining platforms producing aero engine components and will also work cross-functionally with other teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within the area. What you will be doing: Follow technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families. Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, both mechanical and electronic. Interpret manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications. Assessment of whether the quality of components produced meet required standards. Effective team work to resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan. Scope to train and work across a variety of machines, both CNC and manual, including lathes, vertical borer, DMG 5 access milling machine, Dantip Who we are looking for: At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. Applicants must have a time served advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent. Experience on DMG, Danobat, Mazak multi axis machine centers would be preferable. Experience with aerospace components would be preferable Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
