As a Laundry Assistant at our Lime Court Care Home in Dovercourt, Essex, you will be part of a compassionate and welcoming team. Along with the rest of the Housekeeping Team you would ensure that the Laundry in the care home is always maintained to a high standard. Taking pride in the service you provide to the people living in our care homes will make a difference every day.
Excelcare is a family-owned Care Home group established for over 34 years. We provide the highest standards of care to older people with a range of needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. By joining us you will become one of the ‘family’ and in return for your dedication and hard work you can expect:
* £12.00 per hour
* 24 hours a week.
* Shifts from 8am – 2pm, Monday - Sunday. You will be required to work alternate weekends.
About the role:
* To manage the laundry procedures and put through required laundry, preventing unnecessary build-up.
* To ensure that bundles of laundry are identified for the staff to load and unload into the washers and dryers.
* To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the daily de-fluffing of the dryers, reporting any defects to the Head of Home.
* To distribute clothes to our residents’ rooms.
* To ensure the correct marking of residents’ clothes.
* To keep the laundry room clean and tidy and in a hygienic condition.
* To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
* To work in co-operation with the Head of Home in maintaining an efficient laundry service for all service users.
* To manage the laundry throughout under Health and Safety best practices, paying special attention to cross-infection.
* To identify and report and areas of malfunction or damage to equipment, in accordance with the company’s Maintenance reporting procedure.
* To maintain the general cleanliness of the laundry, through identified and agreed work schedules.
* To adhere to and maintain the company’s policies and procedures.
