Ancora Medical Practice are seeking to employ a fully qualified HCA to work across both sites.
The hours of work will be Monday 8am to 6pm and Friday 8am to 6pm with an opportunity for sickness and holiday cover and Saturday overtime.
For this interesting and varied job you will need to be proactive, well organised and hard working.

Main duties of the job

Clinical

Phlebotomy
Chaperoning
Assistwith childhood and adolescent immunisations maintaining any Child Health andPractice records
Assistclinicians with minor ops including vasectomies, as required
PerformECGs, Heights and Weights
Providelifestyle advice to the patients making any necessary referrals within thepractice
Ensurespecimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessarypaperwork completed
Ensuresharps bins are ready for collection
Assist inclinic sessions as directed by members of the nursing and medical staffensuring that all equipment is clean following clinic sessions.
Ensurethat the drug refrigerator is at correct temperature on a daily basis and drugsare within their expiry dates and used in correct sequence. Order drugs andother supplies as directed ensuring that adequate levels of stock are availablein the surgery. Maintain the cold chain when drugs are delivered to thesurgery.
Restocking/maintenanceof equipment
Test overthe counter urine samples as required
Restockingof clinical areas and consulting rooms
Ensurethat the clinical rooms are at all times kept in a clean and orderly manner andthat relevant equipment is ready for use by nursing and medical staff duringclinic sessions.
Toperform diabetic foot assessments once appropriate training received.
Toperform health checks as required.

Job Summary
To be a member of the practice based nursingteam. You will provide high quality care to the practice population. You willbe supervised by members of the nursing and medical team, at all times workingto your job description and within your capabilities.
To assist medical personnel in the care ofpractice patients, to include treatment, preventative care, chaperoning,screening and patient education.
The post will also include someadministrative duties/tasks.

Participatein the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team
Ensureaccurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded inthe patients notes
Ensurethe clinical computer system is kept up to date with accurate details recorded
Ensureaccurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patienthealth care and registration with the practice.
Ensure total familiarity with allappointment systems including regular and incidental variations;
Book appointments and recallsensuring sufficient information is recorded to enable retrieval of the medicalrecord by the most appropriate clinician
Monitor effectiveness of the systemand report any problems or variations to the Practice Administrator
Ensurecollection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular andad hoc reports
Attendand participate in practice meetings as required
Assist informulation of practice philosophy, strategy and policy
To assistin seasonal and special projects as requested flu campaign
Orderingand display of Health Promotion materials
Processpathology and general health care tasks
