Inter-professional Education ‘Care Navigation’ in CARES 1
School of Medicine
Institute of Medical Education
We are pleased to offer opportunities to facilitate group teaching about Care Navigation on the Year 1 and CARES module of the MBChB for the academic year 2024-2025.
CARES 1 and 2 are compulsory modules on the undergraduate medical degree. It is multi-stranded module teaching students the key skills to clinically assess and diagnose core conditions with a strong focus on excellence in communication. This session is an interactive workshop with Year 1 Medical Students and Pharmacy Students from the Bradford School of Pharmacy to consider how patients can access appropriate assessment and treatment for minor health conditions in the community setting.
Students work in small groups to consider cases of patients presenting with minor ailments such as reflux, conjunctivitis or a sprained ankle to consider how to assess and treat them appropriately and consider which professionals could help as a first point of contact.
Comprehensive facilitator materials are provided.
