Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Clinical Engineering Technologist within the Clinical Engineering section of the Department of Medical Physics, Ninewells Hospital Dundee. Candidates should ideally possess, as a minimum, an HNC/HND in Engineering, plus experience working in an equipment repair capacity. The post holder will be required to achieve the necessary standards to join the Register for Clinical Technologists.
Clinical Engineering provides a service throughout NHS Tayside and external customers serving the population of Dundee, Angus, Perth & Kinross, and Northeast Fife. This role will be predominantly based at Ninewells Hospital; however, there will be considerable elements of the role working in community healthcare settings around the NHS Tayside region, meaning the ability to travel to these different locations is essential for the role.
NHS Tayside Clinical Engineering Section comprises four disciplines: Electronics, Renal, Mechanical, and Anaesthetics, with this role covering elements of all those workshops except Renal. This position is within the Mechanical team, providing repairs, servicing, and inspection of medical equipment management throughout the Tayside region from the base at Ninewells. Daily, the successful applicant will travel to patients’ homes and other care settings throughout the region to maintain medical equipment, utilising the vehicle and equipment provided. In-house training will be provided on all equipment.
Flexibility in working hours should be expected to meet service demand.
Hours of work are: 37.0, Mon-Fri.
