Purpose of the role
Responsible for the nonmetal sourcing and procurement for the business. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost effectiveness and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
Duties
Sourcing and Procurement
* Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality and reliability
* Negotiate contracts, terms and prices with suppliers
* Provide commercial support to the Contract manager
* Manage the purchasing process and place purchase orders
Vendor Relationship Management
* Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal performance
* Address any issues with vendors
* Monitor and evaluate vendor performance
Collaboration
* Liaise and work closely with other departments (e.g. Maintenance, Operations) to ensure all requirements are met and that all purchases align with the business needs
Compliance
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in purchasing activities
* Ensure vendor compliance to accreditation certifications
Qualifications
Essential to the role
* 5 GCSEs Grade A-C – English Language and Maths essential
* Proven experience as a Buyer
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 36.25 hour week - Flexitime
