An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader of the Cancer Research Delivery Group (CRDG) at St. Bartholomew's Hospital.
We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic Team Leader with significant knowledge and understanding of clinical research in oncology. They should have expert experience of planning, coordinating and conducting cancer clinical trials as well as clinical audits. The applicant should also have excellent communication skills, be able to make decisions, effective management skills and the ability to prioritize workload. Experience of training and motivating teams to ensure high standards of quality are maintained in delivering clinical trials as well as managing the care and follow-up of trial patients, as per regulatory requirement, are essential.
Main duties of the job
The Team Leader is part of the CRDG management team, prime focus of the role is:
* Working with clinical and academic staff in all stages of the development of the cancer research portfolio.
* Improving patient recruitment into clinical trials.
* Provide management of a team of Clinical Research Nurses, Clinical Trial Practitioners and Research Administrators.
* Develop strategies for efficient management and delivery of clinical trials.
* Ensuring the team meets appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and Centre Objective.
In bringing together laboratory and clinical patient-based research, our Centre promotes translational work needed to develop new anti-cancer drugs and diagnostics from the laboratory into clinics and then to test them in early phase clinical trials, and develop them into late phase trials.

Essential
* Experience of at least 1 year as a Band 6 Clinical Trial Practitioner or Research Nurse in oncology trials. Nursing applicants must be chemotherapy trained.
* Experience in tackling clinical trial recruitment challenges.

* Ability to lead the allocated tumour group in service improvement and meeting targets.
* Can prove basic computer literacy in Windows and IT systems.
* Ability to plan, allocate and supervise the work of a team providing clear constructive feedback in order to maintain and improve performance.
