Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Sheet Metal Worker located in Liskeard for our client, a specialist in Rotary Aviation Services.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be part of the strong professional workshop team, committed to continual improvement meeting/exceeding tight deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment. The team are responsible for delivering our multi-type fleet of Helicopters to the flight line to help customers achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Sheet Metal Worker are:
1. Perform aircraft skin and structure inspections, in accordance with approved applicable data (including composite repairs)
2. Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance to our 109, 169, 139 Helicopter fleet
3. Assist with aircraft teardown and rebuild during base maintenance projects
4. Accurate documentation of maintenance carried out within the scope of their approval
5. Use of appropriate machine tools e.g. Guillotine, Bending machines, Saws, Rollers and Hand Tools
6. Use of appropriate measuring tools e.g. Vernier’s, Micrometer’s, etc.
7. Responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of the work areas under their control
8. Must observe employee responsibilities to comply with Health, Safety and Environmental policy within their area
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
9. Experience of Rotary wing aircraft, although other types and relative industry experience will be considered
10. Experienced at carrying out Sheet metal work repairs to exacting Aviation standards, preferably in the rotary wing environment
11. Experience of working with and ability to interpret engineering drawings, repair schemes and structural repair manuals
12. Able to work as part of a team or under own initiative, within a dynamic Part 145 Base maintenance environment
13. An awareness of MSDS and COSHH requirements
14. Knowledge and understanding of aviation regulations, policies and environment.
15. Good Communications skills, both verbal and written
16. The ability to work well within a high performing team
