SEMH TEACHER
Position: SEMH Teacher in a Pupil Referral Unit
Location: Barnet (N20)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Salary: £750 – £1,250 per week (Scale Point Rate)

We are looking for an exceptional SEMH Teacher to join our dedicated team in an OFSTED-rated ‘Good’ Pupil Referral Unit catering to students aged 5 to 18. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll support young people with diverse needs, particularly those experiencing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Support students’ academic progress while fostering emotional resilience and self-esteem.
* Maintain safeguarding standards, ensuring the welfare and safety of all pupils.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
* Promote independence, well-being, and positive behaviour among pupils.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Overseas Teaching Certificate recognised by NARIC.
* Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in PRU or SEND settings.
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* An Enhanced DBS check on the update service is essential.
* Knowledge of behavioural support strategies, trauma-informed practices, or therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.
