About the Role
To be employed in this role, you must be over the age of 18 and pass an enhanced safeguarding check.
Our stores operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, which brings a wide variety of shift patterns. If you're looking for flexible working to fit around your lifestyle, then look no further! We'll work with you on your shifts, but late and weekend working is a requirement of the role, and we may need to be flexible with your work pattern.
Our in-store Opticians are hugely popular with our customers, and they'll expect the same warmth and friendliness they get everywhere else in the store. You will need to be confident and relaxed about discussing personal ocular health issues, quickly resolving customer problems, and guiding customers to the right products.
You will be responsible for preparing patients for their eye examinations and explaining what each stage of the eye test involves. This includes completing pre-screening examinations, booking appointments for customers, dispensing spectacles and contact lenses, and dealing with repairs and adjustments while ensuring stock has been received from the supplier.
We'll help you become a star colleague by teaching you how to dispense glasses and contact lenses, look after repairs and adjustments, and verify glasses. With our great training and support, we'll help you keep getting better and better.
About You
You'll be naturally friendly, highly organized, and eager to contribute, working with your team to deliver great results. You have good computer skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills with customers. You also love problem-solving and are confident working with numbers. You're passionate about helping people and care about providing customers with a great healthcare experience, assisting them in finding what they need while engaging in conversation.
Asda, that's more like it.
