Solution Architect Permanent Location: Home / Brighton (onsite 2 days a week) Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 ( excellent benefits including 28% pension contributions) Skills: Event Driven Architecture, Azure, Agile, ITIL We are looking to recruit a Solution Architect for a technology driven public sector organisation based in Brighton. Working as part of my client's Software Development Team the Solution Architect will be responsible for driving and delivering strategic cloud architecting and implementation, including Microsoft products on our Microsoft Azure platform. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work onsite in Brighton approximately 2 days a week. Responsibilities As a key contributor in this role, you will: Develop and refine the roadmap for implementing Event-Driven solutions within Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring projects deliver value and align with organisational goals. Collaborate with Business, Data, and other Solution Architects to resolve critical challenges, designing cost-effective and practical solutions using Microsoft and third-party technologies aligned with the corporate strategy. Provide technical leadership to solutions, infrastructure, and development teams, participating in design sessions, development activities, and quality assurance to set the standard for excellence. Support the creation of technology solutions that address business challenges and contribute to achieving organisational objectives. Play a vital role in shaping the organisation's Technology and Data Strategy, with a focus on a 'Cloud First' approach. Continuously enhance methodologies, processes, and standards, driving adherence to best practices and policies related to technology solutions and their development. Essential and Desirable Criteria Expertise in Event-Driven technology, including strategy, implementation, and future design, alongside knowledge of IT Technical Architecture models, Cloud technology, DevOps, software development (SDLC), and data management methodologies. Strong understanding of industry-accepted IT processes such as Agile, Waterfall, and ITIL. In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, including Data Protection and GDPR, and their impact on IT systems and processes. Broad understanding of modern architecture patterns, including their complexities and suitability, such as microservices. Proficiency in Web, Cloud, and Database principles and architectures, particularly with Microsoft technologies such as Azure, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 CRM, .NET, Sitecore, Logic Apps, Power Platform, SQL Server, and Enterprise Architecture. Familiarity with ESB/ETL, Data and Cyber Security, and SaaS/PaaS/IaaS models. Experience in delivering end-to-end software lifecycle improvements, utilizing agile delivery methodologies and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
