The Role:
As a College Cook, you will be responsible for:
* Planning nutritious and cost-effective menus within a set budget
* Preparing meals for approximately 20-30 people while accommodating dietary requirements
* Ensuring all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
* Managing kitchen supplies, stock control, and food ordering
* Maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas in line with health and safety standards
* Supporting students in developing basic cooking skills alongside teaching staff
* Completing and recording all mandatory Health & Safety checks
* Contributing to risk assessments and ensuring safeguarding policies are upheld

* A strong understanding of the philosophy that “the kitchen is the heart of the home”
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations effectively
* Experience in meal planning, budgeting, and maintaining food hygiene standards
