Job Description
What does a care home Chef do? In general, working in a care home kitchen means being part of a small team preparing and serving meals to the residents of the home. You need to be aware of good nutrition and be able to cater for special dietary requirements, which are more common among the older community.
Requirements:
* 12+ months experience as head chef.
* Chef certifications or equivalent experience cooking English-based food and managing a kitchen.
* Ability to cook for 30+ people in one sitting.
* Experience cooking from fresh produce and preparing English-style dishes.
* Availability to work from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
* Ability to cook on the spot if a resident does not like the offered meal.
* Comfortable with IDDSI training (training will be provided).
* Able to work with 1 or 2 kitchen assistants.
* Ability to bake cakes and pastries.
Additional Requirements:
* Experience working in a catering environment.
* Right to work in the UK and 12 months experience in a care setting.
* Enhanced DBS (one can be applied for).
* Availability to work 20-30+ hours per week.
Schedule:
Can work between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Generally 8-10 hour shifts).
