Learning Support Assistant –Winchester

You need to be flexible, energetic, and ideally have experience of working with children with profound and complex disabilities and/or autism. This role could be suitable for a graduate with an interest in pursuing a career in teaching or learning support. Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children of special educational needs and more specifically, we are specifically looking for support staff with a particular specialism such as ASD, Speech and Language, SLD and other Learning Disabilities. Due to the nature of the students a patient, caring and compassionate approach is needed. The ideal candidate will be free for work full time although part time roles are still available.
What you need to know about the school:
The school support young peoples to develop their emotional wellbeing and social skills. As a Support assistant you will support the school to develop students to cope better with the things they find challenging whether this is during their school day or at home. The successful Support assistant will help establish positive and healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and developing social skills. The school are currently on the lookout for an additional teaching assistant to work through us initially with the likelihood of a permanent contract after a specific amount of time. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is fancying a change in career or if you have a keen interest in special needs.

This school offers pupils an educational experience in a ‘wild woodland’ setting, with safe, experiential learning about the world around them and how to care for it. The pupils have regular opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
