Overview In order to maintain and grow our Energy & Utilities services business in the UK, PM Group is seeking to recruit an ambitious, high performing candidate for the above role. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical leadership to a team of multi discipline engineers predominantly providing design and approval and appraisal services to gas transportation companies. However, with the drive towards “net zero”, you will also have a key role to play for growth in other sectors, identifying project opportunities and new clients who require our services to meet the decarbonisation and energy efficiency targets set out by the government. Responsibilities Leading the preparation of proposals for new Utility & Energy sector opportunities Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on performance Managing debtors, accruals and all variations to account Ensuring the consistent roll-out and use of standard processes and tools for Health and Safety, Portfolio Delivery and Project Controls Interfacing with the Talent Acquisition team regarding team recruitment Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and driving standardisation Business and project leadership Business Development Contract and Key Account management Project risk management Change management Motivate / mentor and develop the individuals within the team to allow them to fulfil their potential Managing client expectations Qualifications Preferably, a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a related Engineering subject (e.g. Mechanical, Process or Electrical Engineering) Chartered Engineer status or membership of an appropriate technical body is highly desirable. You will have an in depth knowledge of the relevant UK and international gas industry design codes such as IGEM/TD/1; TD/12; TD/13; TD/4; TD/3; SR/25; ASME: B31.8; B31.3; B31.4; etc. Registered gas industry approver / appraiser status would also be highly desirable and it is anticipated that the candidate shall work towards gaining such qualification. You must have a proven level of experience in delivering complex and multi-disciplined design in one or more of Advanced Manufacturing & Technology, Chemical, Petrochemical Energy & Environment and Gas Sectors. Ideally experience and knowledge of LPG, LNG and hydrogen plants and distribution networks. Knowledge and experience in delivering and handling design. EPCM experience is also highly desirable. You must have excellent commercial awareness and business acumen with the ability to manage projects to budget including hours and commercial targets. Strong knowledge of the requirements of the engineering, construction and commissioning phases of projects in the utility and industrial sectors Excellent organisational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budget. You must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business services. A forward planner, who identifies and resolves project challenges effectively. You must be able to critically assesses own performance and performance of others. Act as a Project Sponsor when required.
