Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust
The successful candidate will work in a range of settings including the clients' own home and the local community, as well as providing support to clients who reside in residential and nursing care settings.
Clients may present with a combination of physical, cognitive, sensory, psychological, behavioural, and social needs; therefore, a commitment to multi-disciplinary working is essential.
You will be responsible for the management of a caseload of clients who present with a variety of complex Occupational Therapy needs, undertaking specialist assessments to develop meaningful, individualised, and person-centred care plans that can be delivered individually or as part of a wider multi-disciplinary approach.
The service is committed to working in partnership with the service user and carers where appropriate, to develop collaborative high-quality individualised care that ensures safety and promotes recovery, wellbeing, and maximising independence.
Main Duties of the Job
The Occupational Therapy service is fully integrated within the Community Teams, managed by the Pathway Manager, and supported by the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, who will provide ongoing clinical and professional supervision.
There is a requirement to take OT students on a regular basis from Northumbria University and contribute to student learning in the clinical area.
To deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
To act as identified deputy in the absence of the Clinical Lead.
The post holder will provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by the Clinical Lead.
There is a robust network of Occupational Therapists within CNTW with strong links between both community services and urgent care settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to work into the well-established Older Adults Community pathway. Although previous experience is not essential, knowledge of the impact dementia can have on occupational performance and participation, and an interest in working in this clinical area is needed.
