Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Glenfield are busy Units with considerable bed base extension planned. Specialities include emergency medicine and surgery, haemotology, upper and lower GI surgery, general surgery, ENT, max fax surgery, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, thoracics and respiratory medicine.
The Leicester General High Dependency Unit is a 6 bedded unit catering for elective admissions primarily in Orthopaedics, Urology and Gynaecology.
The successful candidates will be based at the Glenfield ICU, however travel between sites and the flexibility to work cross site is expected. Potential applicants are strongly advised to make contact with the CSS lead to discuss site options.
In line with service demand it is expected the successful applicants will be primarily available on week days.

The ITAPS Development Team are looking for two Clinical Skills Supervisors for Critical Care. The successful applicants will be dynamic, motivated and experienced individuals to work within a critical care team providing direction and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi disciplinary team within our Adult Intensive Care Units.
The post holderwill be an expert clinical practitioner and an enthusiastic integral member of our well established and committed teams, providing and supervising the delivery of excellent quality care.
As a clinical skills supervisor, you will have a pivotal role in implementing, supporting and monitoring clinical education, by assessing competence and ensuring progression and teaching and training in the clinical setting. Primarily you will work in partnership with Team Leaders and the education team in the development of all staff within Intensive care.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in this environment and should ideally have senior experience working at Band 5 in a critical care area. A period of supervision, structured training and development will be available for the right candidates.

• To work clinically alongside Registered and non-Registered staff in the area promoting and delivering education, practice and the implementation of policies to ensure a workforce "fit for purpose" and “fit for practice”.
• To contribute to the local implementation of the Education, Training and Development Strategy by supporting change, innovation and new ways of working.
• To work with the Matron, Sister and Charge Nurses/Team Leaders and Education and Practice Development Team to identify relevant education and training needs through the Appraisal/PADR process
