Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home
Location: Leicester
Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead an established two-bed EBD children's home in Leicester.
The organisation is expanding, with a new home set to open soon. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to become dual-registered, playing a key role in the development of the new service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the management of the home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations
* Lead and support an established staff team, fostering a positive and child-focused environment
* Maintain and improve existing policies, procedures, and care plans in line with best practices
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times
* Manage budgets, resources, and placement referrals effectively
* Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, including local authorities and OFSTED
* Drive continuous improvement to maintain or achieve a high OFSTED rating
Essential Criteria:
To be eligible for OFSTED registration as a Children's Home Manager, you must meet the following requirements:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this)
* At least two years of experience working in a residential children's home within the last five years
* At least one year of experience in a supervisory or management role in a residential childcare setting
* Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and OFSTED's Social Care Common Inspection Framework
* Ability to meet the "fit person" requirements for OFSTED registration, including demonstrating good character, competence, and sound financial standing
* Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting
* A track record of achieving or maintaining positive OFSTED ratings
* Experience managing an established team and driving service improvements
* Interest or experience in multi-site management, with potential for dual registration
