We are currently looking for a Night Hygiene Manager to join and lead our Night Hygiene team at Bromborough.
You will ideally be an experienced Hygiene Manager or Supervisor with Food Manufacturing experience, looking to take on your next challenge. You will preferably have experience working within a compliance / standard driven environment - BRC, ISO.
Your job will be to ensure that the factory is clean and ready for food production ensuring that the highest food safety criteria is met.
Your tasks will include:
* Budget managing and reporting
* Managing waste segregation and recycling services
* Managing a team of circa 20 people, including 2 supervisors
* Assume overall responsibility for the safety of self and staff whilst at work, ensuring that all requirements as laid down within the company handbook, company’s health and safety policy are implemented, monitored, and maintained
* Ensure that all team members are suitably trained, understand their objectives, standards required, are reliable and punctual in their attendance and are motivated to the job
* Planning the work of the on-site hygiene staff to drive continual improvements in hygiene standards
* Develop and audit hygiene schedules and work instructions to ensure all inspections and certification audits are passed
* Drive cost savings in hygiene and waste overheads
* Embed safety measures across all hygiene and waste handling activities to reduce accidents.
* Be responsible for the performance, conduct, attendance and disciplinary matters for all employees in your team
* Hold daily briefing sessions with your team advising them of daily targets, previous day’s results and any future news
* Ensure that up to date chemical handling training is provided and completed for all relevant staff
* Develop Staff to achieve their maximum individual and team potential
* Ensure that all team members at all levels understand their part in achieving departmental operational objectives
* Assist other departments with training needs regarding hygiene
* Ensure that all staff are trained on new equipment or cleaning materials/chemicals
* Ensure that all legislative requirements are fulfilled and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities for health and safety and that safe working practices are adhered to at all times
* Responsible for the assessment of risk within the department and that all relevant risk assessments, safe systems of work have been carried out, compiled and are kept up to date
* Be ambassadors for and promote the culture of Quality and Food Safety by their visible presence on site demonstrating behaviours and reinforcing our commitment to the highest standards at all times
* Participate in external Quality and Food Safety audits and customer technical visits taking the lead within their department or area of responsibility
* Ensure that non-conformances relating to Quality and Food Safety are fully investigated using root cause analysis to define effective corrective and preventive action plans
