Our very effective and supportive Governing body are seeking to appoint a site maintenance person for 2 hours per week to complete basic maintenance tasks in the school and within the grounds. The successful candidate must be competent at basic DIY, gardening and simple painting and must be able to work independently, planning and managing tasks in relation to priority. Working hours are 2 hours per week, term time only, following Derbyshire term dates. We can be flexible when the 2 hours each week are worked as long as it’s between the hours of 7am and 6pm. Different tasks may need to be completed at different times depending on where the task is based so times may need to vary each week but this will also be agreed between the successful candidate and the Headteacher. There may be opportunities for additional hours in relation to certain tasks but these will be in agreement between school and successful candidate and are not compulsory nor can they be guaranteed The contract is to begin week beginning Monday 6th January but could begin earlier than this subject to relevant checks being completed and references being received for the successful candidate. Duties will include basic site and grounds maintenance, such as building/moving furniture, adding/removing shelving, basic repairs, touching up painting tasks indoors, painting outdoor fencing, sheds etc, jet washing, sweeping outdoor areas, basic gardening. Roles may include working at height, working in unfavourable working conditions such as heat/cold/dust/noise and tasks requiring physical strength.
