Amity International school, Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Lower Primary Deputy Head Teacher (Nursery to Year 2) to lead and develop outstanding pedagogy and practice.
The Lower Primary Deputy Head Teacher will take a leading role in teaching, learning and driving standards across the school. This will include:
* Demonstrate a deep understanding of best practice in Foundational and Key Stage 1
* As a member of SLT have day-to-day responsibility of running the school
* Being able to lead on data and analysis to inform the strategic development of the phase
* Being able to inspire and motivate a large team, sharing your passion for best practice
* Being a strong, effective and credible leader
* Leading curriculum evaluation and design, evaluating and adapting the curriculum to ensure continuity and progression across the year groups from Nursery to Year 2
* Managing, coaching and mentoring the Year Group Leaders to support the quality of teaching and learning, learner outcomes and pupil tracking, as well as resourcing, reporting and scrutiny of attainment and progress
* Lead agenda items in staff meetings and chair Year Group Leader meetings
* Assist by advising on the CPD programme in the Lower Primary School
* Ensuring coherent transition between phases
* Oversee the intervention support provided within the school. Overall, have key responsibilities for ensuring that there are high standards of curricular teaching and learning provision established and visible within the Lower Primary School
* Demonstrate excellent pastoral instincts and skills
* Support the Lower Primary SLT and Year Group Leaders in the promotion of attendance, the maintenance of high standards of pupil conduct and the completion of quality home learning in order to support success
* Building highly successful partnerships with parents and our international learning community.
