Production Planner
Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions, is currently seeking a Production Planner to join their team located in Eye, Suffolk.
An opportunity for the role of Production Planner has arisen to support and strengthen our client's existing team within the manufacturing areas. The role has a particular focus on ensuring a planning approach which delivers high levels of efficiency while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
1. Proven experience gained within an ERP driven planning role.
2. The ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
3. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
4. Good administrative skills and IT proficiency.
5. The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
6. The ability to deliver tasks and objectives by agreed deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create and route special parts ensuring that they are manufactured safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
2. Create and download cutting programmes for the laser and punching machines as required.
3. Create sheet packing lists ensuring that they are in build order, to the correct weight limits, packing type, and ensure all other customer requirements have been addressed.
4. Issue packing lists to the Team Leader. Monitor progress and flag issues to the Senior Production Planner.
5. Achieve a high level of stock accuracy by carrying out regular stock checks on punched and ground coat development sheets and update the Company's ERP system as appropriate.
6. Close production jobs to ensure the flow of information within the Company's ERP is optimised.
7. Identify and correct jobs that have booking errors and raise any ongoing issues with the Senior Production Planner.
8. Be involved in the purchasing of metal products including updating lead times and minimum stocks.
9. Be fully involved with improving and updating the company's ERP systems.
10. Assist with investigating stock discrepancies ensuring that information on the Company's ERP system is accurate and meaningful.
