About the role Following investment into our nursing workforce we have expanded our existing senior nursing team within the IPU. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic nurse with a genuine interest in the development and delivery of palliative and end of life care. We are looking for someone who wants to spend more time with their patients, who thrives within a supportive multi-disciplinary team and is excited to learn and develop their own skills and provide effective leadership. Your day will involve You will deliver a senior nursing role supporting the Ward Manager of IPU to manage, lead and develop the In-patient Nursing Service and to ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with strategy and Hospice policies and procedures. You will be responsible with the current senior nursing team for not only supporting, but co-ordinating and leading the IPU team in the absence of the Ward Manager About you We are looking for someone with You will need to be a qualified RGN with at least 2 years Palliative care experience. Excellent communication skills to enable you to discuss difficult end of life issues and to confidently liaise with other healthcare professionals at all levels as well as family and carers. You'll supervise the professional work of nursing staff and be expected to deliver good leadership skills. You'll act as a role model to our staff, encouraging effective working relationships and the development of a cohesive nursing team.
