Nursery Deputy Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ramsden Robins. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to work at our lovely Barrow-based nursery, working with a small staff team and children aged 0-4 years.
Open 50 weeks a year, the nursery has a two-week closure at Christmas.
Pay is attractive and negotiable, depending on candidates' experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
* To liaise with the manager and management team on a daily basis.
* To work as part of the nursery team.
* To make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of a Manager.
* Manage staff, take part in staff supervision, and support staff's professional development.
* To follow all the nursery's administrative procedures.
* To run the main nursery room and be a positive role model to other staff throughout the nursery.
* To have a thorough working knowledge of the nursery's policies and procedures.
* To assist in the training of staff within the nursery.
* In the absence of a Manager, to manage staffing levels and to deploy staff where necessary throughout the setting.
* To attend meetings as part of the management team.
* To be flexible with shifts and work extra if needed to ensure all shifts are covered in the event of staff sickness.
* Risk assessments.
* Health and safety.
* To ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.
* To monitor any safeguarding issues following local authority procedures.
* Training to be undertaken as needed.
* Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector ensuring a minimum good grade is awarded.
* Progression is available to take on extra roles such as SENCO.
Requirements
Appropriate Level 3 Early Years qualification as a minimum. Candidates must have previous experience in a Deputy Management or a Senior lead role within an Early Years setting.
