The Role
Our Mission is simple, we want to make Essex a safer place, together.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has a professional and innovative Education and Specialist Intervention team. In Education, the Joint Education Team deliver a number of lessons and initiatives to all Key Stages, as well as children and young people not in mainstream education. The team are supported by a number of innovative strategies including our work around SEND and Inclusion, evaluation and online learning.
What Are We Looking For?
This role will be perfect for you if you are an inclusive and engaging leader who is driven to create and foster a positive prevention culture both internally for all our colleagues, but externally with partners and the public. This role provides fantastic opportunities to work alongside Operational crews, colleagues, the public and agencies, supporting collaborative and multi-agency working.
You will be adept at managing relationships with partners and developing steering groups and forums around shared subject matters. You will be able to demonstrate an evidence-based, data-driven approach, able to produce reports and be able to analyse and utilise our information to drive performance and culture.
We are looking for a leader, who will inspire confidence and clearly articulate an ambition for an excellent, equitable and inclusive education/specialist intervention offer.
You will work across the organisation and with partner organisations to support the design, delivery and evaluation of key strategies, programmes and associated workstreams which support continuous improvement and better outcomes for all those involved.
What You Will Be Working On
The successful candidate will be required to protect and save life, property and the environment by delivering a high quality, professional service managing the activities of Education and Specialist Interventions, such as our Joint Education team, alternative education programme, Firebreak offer, Fire Safety Interventions with young people, cadet programmes, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Heritage offer.
You will have a clear understanding of the benefits of multi-disciplinary working in securing better outcomes for children.
The successful person will be responsible for the effective delivery of the Education and Specialist Intervention workstream, including budget management, delivering strategies, data and performance management for the purpose of ensuring that the Service is making an impact on those most at risk.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this role, you must:
* Level 6 standard of education (e.g. undergraduate degree) or equivalent qualification or experience in an education environment
* Hold a full UK drivers' licence
* If you are an internal candidate, you must have discussed your application with your line manager and confirmed with them there are no outstanding issues of conduct or performance. This will be verified prior to shortlisting.
