Scope of work for operations engineering resource – Based on the above points, the Operations engineering resource will perform the following tasks:
1. Work on the Material handling equipment like conveyors, sorters, VRC design development and up-gradations. This work will also involve supporting the automation team to help develop RFPs, validate technical specifications, and work on drawing approvals.
2. Able to build, simulate, and optimize the fulfillment center operational process flow models using FlexSim, Demo 3D, or any other simulation and optimization software packages.
3. Carry out vendor launch calls to ensure design and manufacturing happens as per the sequence of installation.
4. Support the site level team by visiting sites, validating the quality of installation, and planning the site activities.
5. Work on cost engineering and value engineering initiatives.
6. Develop new vendors based on Amazon standards and carry out training/improvement points with vendors on “quick installation designs” and standard quality installation practices.
7. Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures relating to material handling, processing, and storage.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering in Mechanical or related discipline with 3-4 years of working experience:
1. Experience in discrete event simulation, design optimization, engineering process design, and data analysis.
2. Understand process flows, analyze data, and effectively represent in simulation models to achieve better correlation and process improvement.
3. Recognized experience in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling/conveyance/packaging systems.
4. In-depth knowledge of standard industry practices including Lean Manufacturing.
5. Ability to travel throughout the country dependent on project location.
6. Excellent working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, and related software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Coding experience with Python, SQL, C++, and good skills using Excel, Tableau, etc.
