This pivotal position requires managing onboard staff, prioritizing safety, cost leadership, and reliability. You will also handle all operational aspects of vessels, including maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage onboard staff and prioritize their effectiveness and performance.
* Prioritize safety, cost leadership, and reliability in all operations.
* Strengthen sea-to-shore communication and engage with officers and crews.
* Handle all operational aspects of vessels, ensuring seamless functionality.
* Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications within budget.
* Plan and coordinate vessel inspections and dry-docking activities.
* Ensure vessel certifications and surveys comply with international standards.
* Monitor vessel performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Manage financial budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores, and dry-docking.
* Propose innovative solutions, cost-saving measures, and operational improvements.
* Evaluate service quality from shipyards, workshops, and suppliers.
Requirements:
* Expertise: Seasoned shore-based manager with at least two years of experience overseeing vessel operations.
* Education: Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or equivalent qualifications.
* Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
* Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets and ensure cost-efficiency in technical operations.
