I am looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accounts Assistant to join a small finance team in South Cambridge. This is a fixed term contract for 9-12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. You will play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller, Management Accountant and other non-finance department heads with costings, pricing, financial analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing costings and pricing for new and existing products. Support financial reporting, including weekly and monthly results analysis. Maintain and update financial models related to product costs. Work closely with Commercial, NPD, and Finance teams to provide accurate cost data. Ensure financial systems and records are up to date and accurate. Assist with month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals. Support the management accountant with the production of weekly accounts What we are looking For Experience in a finance/accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (SAP experience is a plus). Ability to work collaboratively across different departments. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. CIMA/ACCA (studying or working towards) is desirable but not essential. This role is working on site, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm. They have plenty of free on site parking, and they are also easily accessible by bus - with the closest bus stop just a few minutes walk from the office.
