Location: Wigan, Lancashire, WN5 0LQ.
Salary: £28,000 – £30,990.
Contract: Full time, permanent. Shift Pattern Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week.

We are now seeking a motivated candidate to join our team as Logistics Team Leader responsible for leading and managing the Warehouse Team, overseeing all warehousing and distribution operations. You will ensure the receipt, servicing, and dispatch of a wide variety of products, ensuring productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes run safely, efficiently, and on time.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Warehouse team, ensuring compliance with Company, site and regulatory standards.
2. Role model a health and safety culture across the team, aiming for a zero accidents warehouse operation.
3. Set clear day-to-day direction for the team, ensuring all team members understand the daily work schedule and operational targets.
4. Oversee all key stages within the Supply Chain operation including goods in, goods out, stock management & control, and housekeeping.
5. Ensure the warehouse layout is optimised to achieve efficient utilisation of space.
6. Maintain warehouse equipment including forklift trucks and other handling equipment.
7. Maintain a high standard of hygiene across the warehouse.
8. Educate all team members on operational policies and procedures.
9. Maintain record keeping in line with all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.
10. Utilise the warehouse management system to manage stock control.
11. Liaise with suppliers and transport companies to ensure effective receipt and delivery of goods.
12. Plan work rotas, assigning work appropriately to ensure sufficient resource is available to meet demand.
13. Recruit, select and develop the Warehousing Team, ensuring appropriate training and qualifications.
14. Produce reports and statistics regularly, taking account of KPIs and other performance indicators.
15. When production levels demand, actively assist with warehousing operations.
16. Monitor the quality of services provided and implement continuous improvements.
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes
1. Computer literate with experience of warehouse management software and databases.
2. Good level of numeracy & literacy – GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths useful but not essential.
3. Counterbalance and Bendi Forklift Trucks licences required, but full training will be given if required.
4. Proven experience managing warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
5. Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
6. Experience of working with and interpreting KPIs and other areas of operational performance.
7. Experience of implementing process improvement initiatives.
8. Import/export procedures & documentation requirements.
