Join us as a Bus Mechanic and elevate your engineering skills. We are seeking a fully qualified shift Mechanic/Technician with experience and knowledge of PCV/HGV vehicles.

About the role
We are looking for Mechanics experienced in overhaul and repair of vehicle systems, including engines, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems. Experience with workshop equipment such as brake rolling road testers, tracking gauges, hydraulic lifts, washing systems, and testing equipment is desirable.
In this role, you will:
1. Diagnose and perform vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
2. Identify vehicle faults and determine appropriate repair methods and parts
3. Conduct vehicle servicing and routine examinations, using data capture devices if applicable
4. Attend on-road breakdowns and recoveries
5. Perform road tests to identify defects or verify repairs
We will provide overalls, tools, and equipment needed for your work.
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Pay rate: £18.00 per hour. If you hold a PCV license, you will receive an additional 20p per hour from day one.

* Minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification
* Flexible approach to working hours
* PCV license is desirable; ability to obtain one is essential. First Bus will assist with this process.
* Experience working with buses and coaches is advantageous but not required
* Basic electrical understanding
