Consultant Haematologist - NHS Fixed Term or Substantive
Our client based in a beautiful town in North West England is looking for a committed Consultant who specialises in Haematology on either a substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis. This Trust is located in one of the most outstandingly beautiful countryside's in Northern England.
This is a replacement post for a Consultant to join a team of 3 WTE Consultant Haematologists (2 substantive NHS Consultants and 1 locum Consultant). Applicants are expected to be experienced in all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology.
Locum cover will not be provided for Holidays and Study leave. An out of hours on call service is provided with an expectation that the out of hour's rota would be shared equally amongst the Consultant Haematologist team.
The successful candidate will have the following:
1. Primary Medical Degree
2. FRCPath (or equivalent qualification)
3. Registered with the General Medicine Council (with a license to practice)
4. Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview)
5. Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
6. Applicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
Additional information:
1. The post holder will have responsibility for the training and supervision of trainees who work with them.
2. The post holder will devote time to this activity on a regular basis and may be named in the contracts of training grade doctors as a first point of contact for education supervision, appraisal and career advice.
3. The post holder will be responsible for supervising the education of medical students/foundation year doctors attached to the department.
4. The trust encourages Consultants to participate in OSCE for medical students.
