Job Overview
This is an amazing opportunity to use your specialist Neonatal nursing skills to promote an expanding service in neonatal outreach and provide continued care in the community for neonates when discharged home from hospital.
You will have the opportunity to act as a resource for both primary health care and secondary health care services, where specialist Neonatal expertise and knowledge is required, working within the wider network of health care professionals.
Training will be given and there will be opportunities to upskill within your scope of practice.
Main duties of the job
You will have an exciting opportunity to work as part of an enthusiastic outreach team, establishing a rapport with the neonates’ families on the neonatal unit.
You will support the multidisciplinary team on the neonatal unit with preparing the parents and their baby for discharge.
We have a varied workload, which can include complex neonates.
The outreach service runs a hugely successful nurse-led 2-year follow-up clinic for eligible babies after discharge from the NNU.
