Job summary
The Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEEICB) is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Appliance Nurse to join ourfriendly and innovative multidisciplinary Medicines Optimisation Team.
Working in a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians,senior appliance nurses and dietitians, you will support the safe, high qualityand cost-effective use of appliances. You will have excellent interpersonalskills and will build trusted relationships with GP practices, care homes,acute trusts, and community nursing teams, providing support, education, andtraining to improve quality of care for our local population.
Prior experience in a commissioning environment is notessential as you will be provided with close peer support and the trainingrequired to help you succeed in this varied and challenging role.
This is a full-time post, although applications forpart-time working will be considered. We offer a mix of remote, office, andpractice-based working, with no evenings, weekends or bank holidays. Salary isin accordance with the NHS AfC pay scale, and we offer NHS pension.

Main duties of the job
Work withinorganisational policy and professional/ethical guidelines and withoutsupervision. This work will beself-directed but supported by other members of the ICB Medicines OptimisationTeam, including Senior Appliance Nurses.
Work with a high level of autonomy, identifying the need for, developing,and initiating programmes of work aligned to their own portfolio and/ororganisational priorities.
Work with system partners to identify opportunities for development and improvement inthe prescribing and/or use of appliances in primary care settings. This willinclude - but is not limited to - wound care, continence, stoma, and lower limbcare.
Work collaboratively withthe ICB Quality Team to promote best practice in the use of appliances and support thedevelopment of systems and processes to share learning.
Actively participate in the development of an ICBCost Improvement Programme (CIP) plan as it pertains to the provision and useof appliances and support its implementation at place and system levels.
Consider the whole patient pathway to identify thepotential for additional savings to be achieved through admission avoidance,reduction in healthcare professional time etc.
Support medicines optimisation pharmacy technicians withswitches relating to appliances.
