We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teacher to join the team at a vibrant and inclusive school that provides high-quality education for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment that enables the students to thrive and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to deliver tailored learning experiences that meet the individual needs of the pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons for students with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and interventions to support students' learning, engagement, and development.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes independence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and SEN support staff, to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Monitor and track students' progress, adapting teaching approaches as necessary to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on students' progress and well-being.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in SEN teaching.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with children or young adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties in a special education setting.
A passion for working with children with additional needs, and a commitment to supporting their growth and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Knowledge of SEN legislation, inclusive practices, and relevant teaching strategies.
