We are looking to recruit a full time Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist on a 9 month fixed term basis to provide a comprehensive clinical service to pre-school and school-aged children (mainstream and complex needs) with a wide variety of speech, language and communication disorders.
The successful candidate would be based at Harrogate Child Development Centre with regular weekly input to special schools in the Harrogate District.
Main duties of the job
Caseload management is carried out independently.
Close liaison is maintained with Nurseries, Schools, Primary Care Teams and other Community And Specialist Speech and Language Therapists to provide integrated and relevant care packages.
To provide training, direct and indirect / support to Nurseries, Schools, and Health Professionals.
The post holder is a member of the Speech and Language Therapy Team. This includes providing clinical support to Speech and Language Therapy Assistants as necessary.

Qualifications
Essential
1. SLT Graduate/HCPC reg or working towards
Desirable
2. Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist
Experience

3. Relevant paediatric experience at undergraduate/post graduate level.
Desirable
4. Relevant experience of working in school and pre-school setting and local authority Children Centres
5. Experience of using Systmone for client record keeping
Knowledge
Essential
6. Knowledge of assessment tools relevant to locality clinics, preschool and school aged children
7. Knowledge of national NHS, SLT education policies and procedures
8. Knowledge of a range of appropriate paediatric therapy interventions
9. Evidence of awareness of the principles of clinical governance /audit
