About the team we are recruiting to
Fleet Management is a key support service for many internal and external customers at Coventry City Council. We are based in a fully equipped vehicle workshop at our Whitley Depot site and are responsible for the repair and maintenance of approximately 500 items including vehicles and plant machinery and equipment. We are also responsible for the provision of fuel to our customers and provide a driver training service.
What is the job role?
The role of the Fleet Compliance & Asset Management Officer is to ensure the effective asset management and utilisation of all fleet items ensuring optimisation of resources. Responsibilities include:
* Providing efficient administration to ensure that all transport related legislative requirements are met.
* Ensuring compliance with Operator Licence undertakings and company driving policy.
* Working with fleet customers to ensure all service level agreements are met.
* Supervising and supporting the Technical Assistant team, ensuring that all fleet tasks are completed.
* Identifying ways to ensure sustainability of council services.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience in a transport-related environment, but for the right candidate, full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will possess:
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
* Resilience, flexibility, and focus on achieving results.
* Ability to interpret data and apply legislation.
* Proficiency in producing reports and KPI figures.
* A current driving licence.
