Job Advertisement: Year 5 Class Teacher (January - July 2025)
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Class Teacher to join a dynamic team for the period of January to July 2025 (covering two terms). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the educational journey of our students while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Location: Bexleyheath (DA6)
Responsibilities:
* Teaching: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum, ensuring all students receive the support and challenges they need to thrive.
* Planning and Marking: Take responsibility for general lesson planning and marking, ensuring assessments are meaningful and feedback is constructive.
* Parents’ Evenings: Attend parents’ evening sessions (scheduled on an inset day, so no need to stay late). You will also be expected to engage with parents regarding their child’s progress.
* Staff Meetings: Participate in staff meetings when required, contributing to team discussions and professional development.
* Teaching Assistant (TA) Support: Work alongside a Teaching Assistant (TA) who will be available to support you within the classroom as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience: Previous experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (KS2), ideally in a Year 5 setting. This is an essential requirement as the role involves working with children who are preparing for their transition to secondary school.
* Planning and Assessment: A strong ability to plan lessons effectively and mark student work in a timely and meaningful way.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to work well within a team, attending staff meetings and collaborating with other professionals to support student development.
* Professionalism: We are particularly looking for candidates with experience and a proven track record. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) need not apply for this position.
Additional Information:
* PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) Time: Dedicated PPA time will be provided to allow for planning, marking, and preparation for parents' evenings.
* Parent Communication: Parents’ evening will occur during an inset day, meaning you will not be required to stay late in the evening.
* TA Support: A Teaching Assistant will be available to assist with classroom support where necessary.
