Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive art lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students with SEMH challenges.
* Foster a classroom environment that promotes creativity, emotional expression, and positive behaviour.
* Support students in developing practical art skills alongside emotional and social growth.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to student development.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximise outcomes.
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and extracurricular activities that enrich the learning experience.
* Uphold the school’s ethos and commitment to providing an inclusive, nurturing environment for all students.
Qualifications and Experience
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Strong understanding of the art curriculum and its adaptation for SEMH students.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Experience teaching in an SEMH or SEN setting.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and strategies for engaging students with SEMH needs.
* A creative and reflective approach to teaching and learning.
