Admissions patient pathway Coordinator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident, enthusiastic and motivated individual to work within the Theatres Admissions team. You support the smooth running and booking of upcoming theatre lists within the service and will work with the multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will be providing administrative support and tracking the patient through their pathway and provide administrative support to the department. This role is essential in ensuring appropriate and timely access to appointments, advising on any concerns or queries and signposting the patient to relevant and appropriate support. This role is vital in supporting the clinical teams with streamlining the patient journey and contributing to the improvement of both quality and patient experience.
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients' pathways of care, working with GP colleagues, consultants, cancer nurse specialists as well as diagnostic leads.
You will need to be a team player; have excellent communication and organisational skills; enjoy working in a busy, challenging environment and have strong IT skills.

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing a service for the elective and planned admissions function.
This is a multi-skilled and busy role with frequent requirements for concentration and where the work pattern can be unpredictable with regular interruptions. Handling of complex and sensitive information and the need for confidentiality is integral to the post. The post holder will require a working knowledge of IT systems, in addition to any specific requirements for each specialty. The role will range from booking patients for preoperative assessment and surgery/treatment post out-patient clinics, handling GP and patient queries and monitoring the admitted waiting lists. The post holder will be expected to work without direct supervision and will be expected to liaise and communicate as appropriate.
All elective procedure appointments are booked with patient agreement and the post holder will need a flexible approach to ensure that booking processes are implemented, adhered to, maintained and improved
The post holder will be expected to be responsible for the diary system for Consultants and will need to develop and maintain a close working relationship in order to ensure maximum effect in the management or the waiting list for their area. Adherence to the rules agreed within the ’18 Weeks Referral to Treatment’ standards and the Trust’s Access Policy are key requirement of the post.
