About The Role The Head of Sales and Operations Planning will lead and manage the demand and supply planning functions, ensuring accurate forecasting, alignment of supply with demand, and optimized inventory management. This role focuses on driving collaboration between sales, production, and operations teams to meet customer demand, manage resources effectively, and achieve business objectives. Key responsibilities are: Demand Planning Leadership: Lead the Demand Planning Team to develop accurate forecasts for UK grocery, on-trade, off-trade, and international customer segments. Ensure demand forecasts align with commercial objectives and are continuously refined based on sales insights, historical data, and market trends. Supply Planning Oversight: Direct the Supply Planning Team, overseeing all aspects of supply management down to site scheduling for the brewery. Balance demand requirements with production capabilities to create achievable supply plans that optimize resource utilization and minimize stockouts. S&OP Process Management: Lead the Sales & Operations Planning process, fostering cross-functional alignment between sales, marketing, operations, and finance to achieve synchronized supply and demand planning. Implement and drive monthly S&OP meetings to review forecasts, resolve supply constraints, and align on forward-looking demand and supply strategies. Inventory and Resource Optimization: Develop inventory strategies to maintain optimal stock levels across the supply chain while reducing excess and obsolescence. Partner with supply chain and production teams to improve capacity planning and ensure the availability of raw materials to meet demand. Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Use data-driven insights and advanced analytics to identify areas for improvement within demand and supply planning processes. Continuously improve forecasting accuracy, planning efficiency, and service levels through system enhancements, process improvements, and best practices. Team Development and Leadership : Build and mentor a high-performing S&OP team, fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment. Ensure training and professional development programs are in place to enhance team capabilities in forecasting, planning, and operational efficiency. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between commercial and production teams to ensure that demand signals are clearly communicated and production schedules are aligned with business needs. Provide regular updates to senior management on forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and supply chain risks and opportunities. About You QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFIC TRAINING Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field. Advanced knowledge in S&OP processes, demand planning methodologies, and inventory management best practices. EXPERIENCE Proven experience in a senior S&OP, demand planning, or supply chain management role, preferably in the FMCG or brewing industry. Demonstrated success in managing and aligning demand and supply plans across multi-channel (e.g., grocery, on-trade, off-trade) and international markets. KNOWLEDGE Strong understanding of forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning processes, with knowledge of integrated S&OP systems. Expertise in ERP systems and advanced planning tools, along with a solid understanding of demand trends in UK and international markets. SKILLS Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and identify areas for productivity improvements.
