Are you a seasoned asset management and sustainability professional looking to make a real impact in the housing sector? We are partnering with a leading housing association to recruit a Senior Asset & Sustainability Manager who will be instrumental in driving forward sustainability and asset management strategies across the organisation's housing stock.
This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Director of Property Services, where you'll have the opportunity to shape and deliver a comprehensive asset management plan, focusing on decarbonisation and sustainability, while ensuring the highest standards of asset management.
About the Role:
As the Senior Asset & Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic delivery of asset management plans, including proactive decarbonisation and sustainability initiatives across the housing stock. You will lead a professional team, working closely with the local council to develop and manage short, medium, and long-term investment programmes.
Your role will involve overseeing active asset management, asset data management, investment planning, and surveying, ensuring that capital investment programmes are effectively targeted to meet customer needs while complying with the Regulator of Social Housing's Consumer Standards for Safety and Quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and delivery of the asset management strategy, including decarbonisation and sustainability across the housing stock.
2. Investment Planning: Collaborate with council to create and manage short, medium, and long-term investment programmes that optimise housing stock value.
3. Data-Driven Decision Making: Turn asset data into key insights and outcomes, using continuous evaluation and option appraisals to inform retention, investment, or disposal activity.
4. Capital Investment Programmes: Develop and deliver targeted Capital Investment Programmes, ensuring they meet customer aspirations and regulatory requirements.
5. Scenario Modelling: Conduct scenario modelling and mapping to ensure optimal investment programming and expenditure, taking customer needs and local market factors into account.
6. Effective Use of Data: Ensure accurate stock condition, repairs data, demand data, and local market information are being utilised effectively for decision-making.
7. Team Leadership: Lead a professional team to deliver effective asset management, including asset data management, investment planning, and surveying.
8. Budget & Contractor Management: Manage budgets, procurement processes, and coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve organisational objectives.
What We're Looking For:
1. Proven experience in asset management, sustainability, or housing stock management, ideally within the social housing or property sector.
2. In-depth knowledge of strategic asset management, decarbonisation, sustainability practices, and investment planning.
3. Strong data analysis skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights for improved asset management.
4. Experience leading and managing professional teams to deliver results and drive continuous improvement.
5. Understanding of the Regulator of Social Housing's Consumer Standards for Safety and Quality.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas and recommendations clearly.
7. Strong budget management skills and experience in procuring specialist contractors.
