Successful engineering business require a Senior Buyer on a REMOTE basis. Applicants ideally should have technical procurement experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer with organisations manufacturing and supplying; valves & pumps to oil, gas and petrochemical sectors. The Senior Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers for this successful engineering and supply business, servicing the oil & gas, petrochemical and process industries. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for strategic tasks such as negotiations and supplier selection while ensuring suppliers are managed effectively to ensure continuity of supply to customers. The procurement will focus on; valves, pumps, and similar flow control equipment used in the industry and previous experience across these commodities is highly desirable. The role will involve close liaison with technical engineering stakeholders in Quality and Design, and also Sales. Specific duties of the Senior Buyer include: Selection/de-selection of supply partners and supply market intelligence activities Negotiation, agreement and management of agreements with suppliers Operational and strategic supplier and contract management Keep abreast of supplier landscape for; valves, pumps, flow control, service parts and equipment Provide technical and commercial advice on suppliers/products in the; valves, pumps, flow control space Support the function as it continues to grow and streamline operations Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria: Technical procurement experience, as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Project Buyer or Technical Buyer Knowledge of; valves, pumps, flow control equipment used within oil, gas, petrochemical and process is highly desired Ability to perform, strategic and operational procurement tasks Comfortable with engineering stakeholders, technical drawings, BOMs, MRP/ERP etc. Comfortable with a full-time, remote role
