Engineering Manager
Location: Hull (hybrid - 2 days a week on-site)
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience, + bonus

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading teams in the delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring best practices and governance are upheld. You will work in a highly regulated environment, contributing to some of the most advanced and innovative engineering projects in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage engineering teams to deliver complex solutions.
* Collaborate with multiple business functions including engineering, project management, and human resources.
* Ensure high standards of engineering governance and best practices.
* Provide technical and leadership support to engineers, helping them develop solutions throughout the product development cycle.
* Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders.
Who We Are Looking For
We are open to candidates from various engineering backgrounds, provided they have experience in a highly regulated industry such as defence, nuclear, automotive, or rail. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
* Bid Management – Leading technical proposals, cost estimation, and project planning
* System Design & Architecture – Defining system requirements, integration, and verification
* System Realisation – Taking designs from concept to production, including manufacturing considerations
* Test & Evaluation – Developing test strategies, executing trials, and validating system performance
* Requirements Management – Capturing, analysing, and maintaining engineering requirements
* Product Qualification & Certification – Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
* Configuration Control – Managing design changes and maintaining technical baselines
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience leading teams and managing complex engineering solutions.
* Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills.
* Experience with engineering governance and best practices.
* Ability to manage technical risk and engineering maturity throughout the development lifecycle.
* Comfortable briefing senior management and key stakeholders.
