Hours: 38 Hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 15:36, plus standby rota payments & overtime opportunities that can increase earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum after training. Salary up to £36,800 depending on experience. Job grade A. Closing date: 08/05/2025.
Role Overview
We are recruiting a Mechanical Technician to support process Technicians at our wastewater treatment works in Earlswood near Redhill, Surrey. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant equipment, supporting plant operation.
You will follow maintenance plans, participate in installation projects, mechanical fault finding, project commissioning, and emergency repairs to ensure continuous plant operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate plant failures and perform repairs promptly to prevent process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents.
* Perform planned maintenance on mechanical equipment following company standards.
* Provide technical advice and support to the team, including training technical trainees.
* Maintain equipment such as pumps, control gear, valves, flow, level, pressure measurement devices, pipework, and chemical handling/dosing equipment.
Location & Working Pattern
Base at Earlswood, Redhill, RH1 5HE. 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, with standby rota payments and overtime potential.
What You Need
* Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems, NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, and mechanical NVQ2/3 qualification.
* Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including pumps, is beneficial. Domestic experience is not suitable.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards. Full UK driving license required. All tools and a vehicle provided.
