You will be joining a thriving economics and business department working within a successful social sciences faculty which includes psychology, sociology, politics, economics, and business. We value collaboration to ensure there is a vibrant learning and teaching experience for all with opportunities to get involved with visiting speakers, trips, external lectures, presentations, and EPQ.
We offer A Level Economics and A Level Business in the Sixth Form with GCSE Business as an option at Key Stage 4. Economics and Business courses at A Level and GCSE are usually oversubscribed. Results are testament to our diligent and hardworking students and staff, and in 2024, 93% achieved grades A*-B in A Level Economics, 83% achieved grades A*-B in A Level Business, and 73% achieved grades 9 - 7 in GCSE Business.
A good number of students go on to study economics or business-related courses at university. In recent years the department has prepared students for courses at Oxford and Cambridge, LSE, Nottingham, and Bath Universities as well as Degree Apprenticeships with institutions such as KPMG, NatWest, Barclays, J P Morgan, and PWC.
